"MA" tells the story of an immigrant mother through the modification of a blank Toddlerpillar vinyl toy, originally designed by artists Jon Beinart and Tim Molloy.

The six armed entity resides upon a golden lotus platform and assumes leadership with relentless compassion. Its body is heavily tattooed in Chinese paintings inspired by the natural world, which is filled with moments of phenomenal beauty and sheer brutality.

The objects wielded by either sides of the figure represent the dualities of mundane and sacred, labour and compensation, discipline and reward; forces compelling the entity towards whichever corners of the earth may require her attention at any given time.
